New Crescent Moon/
Lunar Month Sessions
Senaman Tua & Mindful Reflection/Tafakkur
Full Moon/White Days
Senaman Tua & Mindful Reflection/Tafakkur
This lunar event holds deep spiritual significance and offers a unique opportunity for personal growth, reflection, and transformation. People of all faiths, truth seekers and cultural backgrounds are welcome.
The White Days/ full moon is the perfect time for Muraqabah; shedding old believes, thought patterns & actions that no longer serve us to open up new opportunities for growth. These sessions are at an opportune time to explore the energy of self-nurturing & nurturing others as we gather together. We will have time for reflection (tafakkur), meditation (thikr & taqwa) and Senaman Tua practices that complement the themes of what comes up for the movement medicine needed and encourage healing. It becomes the ideal alchemy of inner and outward for igniting positive change.
The Full Moon is when the cycle reaches its peak, and from this phase, the energy of the Moon begins to wane. This makes the full Moon an ideal time to perform rituals for letting go, as the disseminating light and energy of the Moon will help you to release what is no longer serving you.
We do this in order to make space for new opportunities, whereby in these sessions tools will be imparted for increasing energy, positivity, tackling anxiety and stress, boosting immune system, connecting with our life source: breath and mindfully feeling into ourselves for presence with the Divine.
The Moon is a wonderful ally when it comes to any ritual for letting go. This is because the lunar cycle offers a natural blueprint of ebbing and flowing energy that we can not only follow, but harness in our spiritual work. You can perform your ritual up to a maximum of three days after.
What are the white days?
The White days are the three consecutive days that fall on every 13th, 14th and 15th day of the lunar/ Islamic month. Prophet Muhammad SAW mentions in many hadiths (authentic records) that there are the three days in the mid of every lunar month. It is called white days because the full moon shines brightly throughout the three mentioned days. Muslims are encouraged to fast during these three days of every month as instructed by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
"Whoever fasts for three days of each month, he has fasted for a whole lifetime."
It is also recommended and a lot of healing benefit of doing hijamah/ cupping on these days. I have obtained specialist training to do wet and dry forms. It can complete your detox routine on any days, except Wednesdays.
To harness the spiritual energy the White Days/ full Moon, one can consider incorporating the following practices into our rituals: meditation and reflection (tafakkur), gratitude practice (shukr) and spending time outdoors, connecting with the natural world.
There will be spiritual themes that arise for each full moon. As the Moon illuminates the night sky, we take time to honour its spiritual significance and embrace its transformative energy. By connecting with the themes of strength, abundance, and connection to nature, you can tap into the profound wisdom of this lunar event and align with the rhythms of the natural world. Let these bright nights guide you on a journey of self-discovery, growth, and spiritual awakening.
During this time, we are being urged to break free from limitations & seek new opportunities for growth and self-discovery. It encourages us to tap into our inner wisdom, embrace new experiences and explore the unknown with a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm. Is an excellent time to reassess & recommit to your long-term goals, travel plans, & personal beliefs.
Letting go rituals can be a powerful tool to help you release negative energies, emotions, difficult memories, unhealthy beliefs and experiences that no longer serve you, and move forward with a fresh perspective, helping you find closure and move on.
If you are feeling stuck, struggling to move forward or know what to do, this is a great time to gain clarity and perspective. We may desire change or know that a situation must shift and we are guided in this transformation if we are able to see all the signs (ayats) that God is showing us, but it also starts from within:
"Allah will not change the condition of the people, until they change what is within themselves." Al-Rad 13:11
Therefore, we have to dig deep inside if we are sincere (iklaas) & we certainly aren't islands so that guiding light is needed with support for true change.
"Neither My Earth nor My Heavens can contain Me, but the heart of a Believing servant, can."
We are each little universes with dreams, personalities and visions with "the most beloved of hearts to Allah are the softest and most tender". So, self-development work & emotional intelligence is necessary for both men & women.
Be sure to explore the best self-care practices that work for you with the extra support & encouragement of wisdom imparted in these classes. It's a beautiful reflection to engage the mother in you to initiate a new way or reinitiate something, Ar Rahman, Ar Raheem.
There's a calmness that comes with this lunar event that we do not usually see, making it an excellent time to meditate and reconnect with yourself.

Senaman Tua
Senaman Tua
Meditation: Nurturing consciousness and awareness.
Senaman Tua is Ancient Malay Exercise and the yoga alternative. Senaman Tua originates from the royal households of Malaysia. It uses a combination of Malay breathing techniques, stretching, movements from Silat martial arts and Malay traditional dance which increase blood circulation, strengthen joints, create a sense of calm, detox and stimulate healing.
In this form of ancient wisdom one is linked to an Islamic tradition and philosophy that can be akin to the modern globalised Yoga or body conditioning exercise depending on demands of the practitioner.
Participants become more in tune with their body, movement in relation to space, understanding themselves, how to heal pain, sickness and create a sense of well-being.
Using the tool of meditation, here we start with going inward to become more fully cognoscente of this magnificent functioning of our human body. Not only do we become astutely aware of the physical sensations, but also with breath, the monkey mind, the environment around us and the fluidity of emotions. We know through our holy books and stories that all holy peoples practiced meditation as a part of their worship.
In the purity of this exercise one can strengthen their spiritual practice, focus, concentration, clarity of mind, problem solving, relieve physical and emotional pain and an avenue for profound consciousness. The more a person knows oneself, they know The Creator and the whole of the Universe cannot contain The Creator but the believer’s heart can.
What if your walking, work and prayer could all be truly mindful steps free from time and profoundly present? I use a variety of different forms of mindful meditation techniques depending on the group needs dealing with the various levels of our being (emotional, spiritual, mental, trauma, generational).
What People Say:
"When I started with Nusaybah a few years ago, it was to improve my general fitness. As I continued the classes, I found Senaman Tua helped with many other issues I had, such as correcting my posture, improving my breathing, and helping to ease knee and neck pain. When COVID hit in 2020, the classes transitioned online, which was incredibly convenient as I could continue training from the comfort of my home.
The workshops in the "Raise your Vibration" program were a super uplifting physical, emotional and spiritual experience, Alhumdulillah(all thanks be to G-d)! We learnt so many valuable lessons, amongst them, how to push away negativity and handle anxiety, being in tune with your feelings, practicing gratitude, and doing specific Senaman Tua exercises to improve immunity. And all this centred around the Dhikr of Allah (remembrance of G-d).
Nusaybah is a wonderful teacher and has a wealth of experience. She has a lot of patience, and always if you need attention in certain areas or you feel you need to improve your energy levels, she's continually ready to accommodate you. Joining Nusaybah's classes has truly been a transformative experience."
